AMD A10-7850K or 7700K?

I've been a long lurker of dolphin-emu forums to get an idea of a "budget"-perfect pc for dolphin.

Just a few very simple question with regards to it. This how I understand how dolphin is going to use up the pc:

CPU: FPS(Speed) is based on how strong this is.
GPU: Quality(IR) is based on how strong this is, as long as the CPU can handle it.

Basically, what I would need is a CPU powerful enough (above wii on cpu benchmark), to make a wii game close or on 60fps with native IR, right? >IR then means I need a powerful GPU, right?

Currently, i got my eye on the latest AMD A10-7850k/7700k, for both it's processor and gpu. But based on research, it's not as powerful as an i3-4130, cpu wise. But will the acpu decent enough to play with, cpu and gpu wise?

Hopefully, I should be able to build my Budget HTPC capable of running Dolphin at a decent speed, prolly just 2x IR is enough for me..

What games? Both can probably do most lighter games, but demanding games are out of the question, unless you get a haswell.

Those things barely can hit full speed on lightweight games at any IR.

They're quite a bit faster than my CPU. I can play a few lightweight games at 4xIR, almost constant full speed. Lightweight games that I have are Wind Waker and Wario Land: Shake It!. So, no. You're wrong.

Yeah, you're going to want to get a Haswell i3-4130 if you mainly plan on emulating Dolphin

Super Mario...
Mario Kart...
Mario Party...
Legend of Zelda...
Metroid...

I know Super Smash Brothers is a lot resource hungry, I don't think I'm ready to give up this game.

Hhhmm. I am starting to think that the i3 will be best for dolphin instead of the AMD.. Hate budget constraints..

I have an Athlon II X2 220 overclocked to 3.5/2.5 GHz (latter clock is CPU-NB and HT, which makes a big difference in Dolphin), and a Radeon HD 5770.

In terms of Super Mario, Sunshine is, iirc, rather resource-light (I don't own it anymore, so I couldn't tell you myself), and then the Galaxy games are really demanding.

In terms of Mario Kart, I'm not entirely sure. I own MKD!!, but I don't play it often. I just know that it wasn't too fast on my own computer last time I played it (in 2013).

Legend of Zelda, Wind Waker should run well, and Twilight Princess has - mind the slight paraphrasing - the most demanding area in dolphin, period, in it.

Metroid, apparently they're all pretty heavy.

Now, if you get the i3, everything barring TP should play fine. The AMD APU has more GPU power, though, so it can drive a higher IR. I'd recommend getting the i3 and upgrading to a discreet GPU later on.

I just read somewhere that there's gonna be a haswell refresh this coming april-july.. hopefully they'll be marketed at about the same price as 4th gen haswell..

Choosing the i3, I'm pretty sure, the current Intel HD 4400/4600 is not on par for dolphin.. -_-

And, it's not 4th gen haswell. It's 4th gen core ix, codenamed haswell. They're bringing out more ix-4yza CPUs.

Really?! I might get away with an i3-4130 then?

Lol. Guess I don't know what I'm talking about, about model numbers and model names and codenames..

Still, if the new i5 is going to be at the same price of i3-4130, then i5 it is..
