Thanks for the advice!
I would not do overclocking and also would like to take the i3 for its multimedia abilities (iso blu ray 3D compatibility, etc). In summary I could buy:

-CPU: Intel i3 (which model and generation?)

-MOBO: ASRock Z97 Pro3 LGA 1150 Intel Z97 HDMI SATA 6Gb / s USB 3.0 ATX Intel Motherboard (Overclocking is not doing something less expensive?)

-GPU: EVGA - GeForce GTX 750 1GB GDDR5 PCI-E DVI (otherwise it seems like the ASUS - GeForce GTX 750 1GB GDDR5 PCI-E Dual Link DVI / VGA / HDMI OC Edition or the ZOTAC - GeForce GTX 750 1 GB DDR5 PCI-E 2x Dual Link DVI / Mini-HDMI are both less expensive?)

-RAM: G.SKILL Ripjaws Series 4GB (2 x 2GB) 240-Pin DDR3 SDRAM DDR3 1600

If you ain´t going to overclock, you can´t pair any i3 with the Z97. We still recommend you the unlocked Haswell i3 for better results on Dolphin.
Rig 1: Windows 10 Home | AMD A6-1450 @ 600/1000/1400 MHz | AMD Radeon HD Graphics 8250 | 4GB RAM | HP Pavilion TouchSmart 11.

Rig 2: Windows 10 Pro | Intel Core i7-2640M @ 780/2800/3500 MHz | Intel HD 3000 Mobile | 8GB RAM | Dell Latitude 6320.

*Unlocked Pentium.
Also if you are going to be doing any PC gaming I can't recommend the Unlocked Pentium to you. It is very crippled compared to even the i3 that you want.

You could even wait for Intel Devil´s Canyon.

Hexus benched it at 4.4 GHz (the highest they could get with the stock cooler) and it outperformed a stock 4770K and 4670K in every game (although the bottleneck was GPU-side, so they were all really similar). Anyway, there's no reason an overclocked Pentium shouldn't be part of a budget build that can't stretch to the 4670K.
OS: Windows 10 64 bit Professional
CPU: AMD Ryzen 5900X
RAM: 16GB
GPU: Radeon Vega 56

It's slower then the i3-4330 in Battlefield 4 when at 4.6ghz and in Crysis 3 is just equal. That's pretty pathetic for a overclocked processor. Lets not even go into how bad it is in Watch Dogs. It would be better to get the i3 then the G3258 for Multimedia and Dolphin. He said he didn't want to overclock.

You're comparing a two threads CPU with a four threads CPU ...Keep in mind that BF4 is one of very few games that can take advantage of multiple threads
Hyper-threading will bring up to 50% more performance for Dual Core CPU ( 30~50% ) and i3 4330 price is 2 times as much as the Pentium . This isn't a fair comparison

@DJBarry004
There is no Unlocked Haswell i3

I doubt it . Most games support quad core CPU , only a few games like SCII are stuck with dual core CPU

@OP if you've already chosen i3 , you should not pair Z87/Z97 with it (unless you want to waste money for nothing) . B85 or H81 will do . B85 is meant for small business server , B85 >H81
