Thanks for the tip! I grabbed one today since they just came back into stock. This is a great price for this card, which is normally $200+ new.

Some idiot retailer is trying to sell them through amazon at the same price they were the year of their launch even though it's 5 years later and there are now cards that are 3 times as fast, consume less power, have quieter fans, and have dx11 support for the same price. That price makes no sense and I doubt they are selling any. Clearly they never updated their price from the original MSRP. They were selling on newegg for $80 new 2 years ago. I'm sure of it.
rokclimb15 Wrote:Although not stated explicitly, I assume these are warranted refurbs from the manufacturer, not old stock. They're not allowed to sell a refurbished product without indicating it. Amazon could close their account for that. rokclimb15 Wrote:I didn't compare a used price, but I'm sure you're right that it is low I wasn't talking about the used price at all. Anyways I guess you're technically right about the new price but it's misleading since it implies that you save $160 over an equivalent product. When in reality it's just some idiots selling it at a price they're not supposed to be selling it at. Somebody screwed up somewhere down the line.

I'm sure you're right about them not keeping the listing updated. I meant that the card linked by the OP was probably refurb, not the one on Amazon. That's the only reason I can think of why the manufacturer suddenly has a lot of old cards at a low price. The reason I thought the Amazon price might actually be legit is because Newegg has them last listed at $199 before they went out of stock. Of course, it doesn't say when that was and it was probably a long time ago.
