Ok so my mom got mad at me the other day cuz shes dum....and she locked me out of the wireless internet by changing the password...now my question is how to get these to work...ive downloaded ubuntu for windows so i can switch to tht if i need to cuz idk how to install make files and cygwin wont work lol

umm yea all i need is a really good tuitorial put in extremely lamence terms...cuz i dont kno what the hell im doin on linux systems Tongue

Welcome to the world, man.
If you have Ubuntu installed, you can try installing the Aircrack-ng suite (don't know if running a x64 system has any consecuences, but I hope no). For installation and/or usage of it, let the reading begin. But use it at your own risk...

Alternatively you can switch to a Linux Live CD with the Aircrack suite pre-installed. Wifiway is a good one to start.

yes i have it installed...i have been reading...alot lol and i havent found out anything...form what i kno my ubuntu has an older version of open SSL and i cant find out how to uninstall it and install the newer version...it just says error a later version is already installed...linux is so confusing lol Tongue
i like windows to much to get rid of it and linux is gonna be a nice backup for when and if windows ever goes down then theirs no need to get it fixed rite away and i can still do what i need to do
also the thing is tht idk if Aircrack -ng is compatible with my wifi card...i have a windows original system.

If you were reading one would expect you already determined your wifi card chipset and found out. Anyway, you can find out by opening the Device Manager on Windows.
Regarding your install/uninstall issues, I cannot help very much. Yast makes things a lot easier in openSUSE. I guess no other way but searching... I'll post again if I find something else.

ok so i figured out how to ge tthe correct plugins downloaded...the types of ubuntu have specific plugins or files to download so i just type the file then download and then lucid(its my ubuntus nickname) and i ge tit...i just got the open SSL installed and now i get this

Have you already solved it? If not, that pcap.h error may show because you're missing the file libpcap. You can install it this way: apt-get install libpcap0.8-dev.
