Still, I know you said you configured Dolphin just like the link, but if you're using a newer version of Dolphin, some settings have changed. It would help if you could post your settings as text or as a screenshot. Additionally, what speeds are you getting now?
With your specs, Kirby Epic Yarn and NSMB should run fine. SMG games need a heavily overclocked Sandy Bridge chip to run at full-speed with LLE audio (which is needed in some parts, I think).
