Dear community,

I just installed the latest beta version of macos 11.3 to get access to the xBox series X controller support (which works). Unfortunately, I cant edit the buttons of the controller within Dolphin (Macos ARM version). Any chance to implement this?

M1 support is currently not officially part of Dolphin, so I'm not sure if we can help you much with it, but... Did you build Dolphin yourself or did you download a build someone else made? Were the SDL libraries installed when the build was made?

Does the controller work in Dolphin if you use an x86-64 version of Dolphin?

I just used the latest x86 macos beta (not self build)

How can I install the m1 version and SDL libraries?

The controller gets recognized, however I cant edit/assign the buttons... it freezes and does nothing.

Ah, sorry, I must've misinterpreted what you said then. Please ignore what I asked.

The macOS ARM version is the M1 version. Honestly though, if it currently doesn't work in the x86_64 version, it probably won't work in the ARM/M1 version either since that does not change anything related to gamepads afaik.

M1 Mac-mini tears through games with Dolphin. The speed is very impressive, and the entry cost is cheep for a Mac. I am looking forward to the soon release of the M1 Apple Silicon build. I am monitoring the git forums.

No, x86 has no function for Analog. The game controller is recognized by all other emulators, including Steam. What is the challenge behind the Dolphin implementation, let us keep the discussion going.

There is a presumed lack of enthusiasm here. To do the same that these base M1 machines are doing with the x86 builds, you'd need a 3x power consumption from a bulky machine, and or alternate platforms. Which for me, and others, why would I want, or need to install, run or own x86 machines any more just to play Dolphin.
