Hey.

I was gonna get a whole new PC (extremely a good one), but I'm having money troubles, concerning school, so i wont be allowed to...

However, I've some good offers!

This is my PC;

AMD Athlon 64 x 2 6000+ (3.11 Ghz)
NVIDIA GT240 DDR3 1GB (OC 15% Stable 30º C)
4GB Ram DDR2 800 Mhz

I'm allowed to get a new processor; AMD Phenom x4 965 Black Edition 3.4 Ghz Quad and will be allowed to buy a 1080p screen to "watch movies".

Also, there is a whole new PC offer;

AMD FX 8120 Bulldozer Black Edition Eight-Cores
4GB Ram DDR3 1333 Mhz
MOBO; Asrock n68 vs3 fx
1 TB HDD
600W Thermaltake

-----------------

Please Understand my Money limitations (im from Venezuela).

I want to be allowed to run SSBB at 100% speed even in 4 player mode, SSBM, Mario Kart Wii, Mario Kart Double Dash too.

Any thoughs what should I do?.

Is that processor overclocked?.

Is it that good to emulate Wii games?

FX 8120 is higher than the phenom one

I know i've been recommended those, but they are expensive and it's way more expensive than the money i've on my hands.

The i5 2500k is like 40% of the money i've to spend on a new computer, when the AMD FX 8120 is like 15%

wii emulation with fx 8120 seems good

You will need to overclock these cheaper cpu's
Is i5 2400 or 2300 within your budget ? They are still better then amd

I might look forward an i5 2400, but is that enough to get 100% speed in Wii games like the ones I mentioned?.

Remember the current PC i've is old and obsolete, the new PC comes with alot more new things.

Also remember if i go for the AMD FX i will be playing on a 5:4 (17') monitor; 1280x1024

Ultra settings on a FX-4100 same motherboard i can get in the new PC, what do you think?.

I dont know about these games I havent played them.
Somebody alse will have to help you with that.
But i5 2400 without overclocking is comparable ( if not better ) to heavily overclocked phenom II or amd fx.
And you wont have to go to trouble of overclocking,and you are never guaranteed if chip you buy will be able to work on speed you want.
So I would say i5 2400 is better buy then either phenom II or FX

I'm pretty sure I already mentioned that the Phenom was your best bet. I said that not because I didn't see that you mentioned the FX processor, I said that because that is the best processor you listed for Dolphin. Running a PC game is not the same as running an emulated game.

Humm...

So youre saying the AMD Phenom II x2 965 Black Edition with a 1080p screen monitor will run faster than the whole new FX-8120 Black Edition, 4GB DDR3 1333 Mhz, etc..etc... but with no 1080p screen?.
