Recently, there's been a flood of Spam bots on this forum. I can imagine it's getting more annoying to deal with over time, for Mods and for Users.
Anyways, let's see what they put in their profile information when they created their account:

Quote:Operating System: x86
Processor/CPU: 6565
Video Card/GPU: 56565
Memory/RAM: adfjakd
Dolphin Revision Currently Using: x86

Quote:Operating System: afga
Processor/CPU: afg
Video Card/GPU: afgaf
Memory/RAM: afg
Dolphin Revision Currently Using: afgaf

The information above doesn't make sense, right? Well, when creating an account, you don't need valid information. Almost everyone can go ahead, create an account and put "lololtrololo" as his CPU/RAM whatever.

So, this brings me to my suggestion. Please require valid information, such as "Intel" for CPU or "NVIDIA" or "AMD" for GPU. I don't think a captcha will stop bots anymore, as they're getting more and more intelligent. However, requesting valid information might stop them.

Requesting Valid Information will probably stop 90% of the regular users too.

Well, it doesn't need to be explicit, it could just say Intel, 8GB ram, Windows. Whatever.

That's kind of what I thought.

It hasn't been any worse than usual. It may have its spurts, but the bot problem is far from unmanageable at the moment. We have enough Forum Staff with banhammers that one of us usually gets to it relatively quickly. FYI, when someone reports a post, the forums basically scream at us until someone verifies whether a post violates the rules. Think of the way you're notified of PMs but on steroids. It's hard to ignore, and with so many of us around, ban-on-sight usually keeps us clean.

So report stuff as quickly as you can, and we'll be there soon enough. That goes for everything really, not just bots.

No, we can tell what you mean, except you've been ambiguous about the breed of ram you've got, and whether you diced them and put them in your case, or keep them alive in there, and feed them.

However, I'm not sure you devs are supposed to reveal anything about Dolphin Pro, so although you've got a real revision, you might tempt non-iluminati-members to go looking for it.
OS: Windows 10 64 bit Professional
CPU: Intel i5 4670K @3.4GHz... for now @4.6GHz with a quick and dirty (yet stable) OC. May get faster in a bit before the end of time.
RAM: 16GB (Down from 24 GB after some was given to siblings)
GPU: Radeon Vega 56

I wonder if a drop down box will stop them, but that would be too tedious to make i guess.

No, it wouldn't, it would just frustrate real users.
