Dear Dolphin members and it's staff!

I have noticed that the first info posts on page 1 in various game threads have outdated information some with info dated as long as 2-3 years back.

It has come to my attention and I hope everybody else too have noticed that the same questions is being asked again and again and the same answers is given again and again, especially regarding LLE which is pretty common.

- Use LLE
- Why don't you try LLE
- LLE should work great
- I recommend trying LLE etc. etc. etc.

For the most popular games and Nintendo titles go through each first info post on page 1 and revise with new accurate and up to date info on which builds to use (The current official stable build should be optional to recommend), settings, common problems and how to solve them, LLE recommendations, computer specs recommendations etc.

That way if they keep asking the same questions, just refer them to the first info post on page 1.

No one should have to answer a question a million times if proper up to date info is given to the end-users.

I know updating isn't a guarantee that stupid questions will stop being asked but the idea is good nevertheless.

What do think, is a cleanup in order?

There's almost a hundred threads there, i doubt you'll find anyone willing to go through and do all the work, besides the dolphin wiki provides a little more info than the game threads, so users should look there too.

I know it's over hundreds of game threads out there, but if you narrow down to the absolute most popular games people play which usually is Mario, Zelda, Metroid, Resident Evil and other popular franchises and forget about the odd games for a second, the list is shortened down considerably.

I have a feeling that if a group of people took a couple of games each, this thing could go pretty fast heck I'd be willing to contribute with some info myself for some of the games I play.
And linking to the specific game Wikipage could be a good idea too.

I just thought it would be a good idea and relive some stress and weight off your shoulders.

Just google search a game's name followed by the words 'dolphin wiki' and you'll see the wiki entry, you can edit those, as for the game discussion threads, you need to be an admin to edit the 1st post

Yeah sadly, the only hope would be posting the new updated information as a post and ask a mod or admin politely to update the first post.

Yeah, yeah, that could work, instead of them doing all the work all they have to do is copy and paste. All we need now are volunteers to do this, anybody?....anybody?....hello...anybody home? *crickets*

Yeah well providing info isn't that hard and as I said earlier I gladly would provide with contributions.
But for the games I have most things work fine so issue wise I'm a little short on info and to be honest I haven't played through every game I have in Dolphin. Usually I have just obtained the save files I used for my real systems and imported into Dolphin.

The wiki is a good place to start, people usually state rigs and leave comments about their observations, you can gather all this info and try to put it together. If you're dead serious, have a look at this thread about how the 1st post of a game thread should be, unfortunately it was created not too long ago so most of the threads didnt follow it http://forums.dolphin-emu.org/showthread.php?tid=18803

Yeah yeah that looks nice. I have some time off now in the weekend. I think I'll look into this and write down settings and recommendations for the games I'm playing in Dolphin then.
Shouldn't take that long, but uh I'm using 3.0 and haven't tried or used any newer builds so yeah.

As I haven't had any major problems with the games I'm playing, 3.0 have been my companion. I like official stable releases and try not to use revisions too much.

And I think LordVador volunteered too for Twilight Princess, so it's great if we can get as many games updated as possible.

Yes, it'd be best to use the official release and check what people on the wiki have with the latest revs, i may participate if someone gives us a green light.
