Hello, I just had a friend over recently and we grew up playing melee so I thought to emulate it. But then I remembered, something about my setup just hasn't been quite right. Every time I try to play melee on PC, inputs drop randomly and consistently. What do I mean by that? Well, some inputs like the 'a' button will drop randomly while the jump button will drop plenty of times. A character is performing a smash attack all the time because of these dropped inputs so I know I'm not going crazy. Its consistent while trying to L-Cancel and it turns one of the tightest controlled games ever made into a complete mess.
I thought the problem lied in my adapter, so I just got a new one today and to my chagrin that is not the issue. Its still dropping inputs. I said okay, then I thought it was my version of dolphin. It was older after all. I changed to the latest version and yet still the same issue. I thought maybe it was my PC, my controller. Nope, I changed to a different PC and changed controllers and its still all the same.
It feels like I'm cursed to never be able to play a Gamecube game again. What could possibly be the issue if not the PC, the adapter, or the controller?
Weirdly enough, for both adapters, if I plug them into my Switch I can play Ultimate just fine. No controller issues. Unless its some messed up coincidence that both my Desktop and laptop are bugging out, I have no idea what the issue could be.
Any help at all would be greatly appreciated.
