A Little Help

Hey guys. Nostalgia hit me pretty hard yesterday when I found my old copy of Paper Mario 2 in a closet and seeing as my Gamecube is long gone, I figured I'd give Dolphin a shot. Made a dump of the disc and whatnot then proceeded to load it. My problem is that the game is playable, but it's really slow.

I have the recommended settings on and my hardware should be more than enough to run this at full speed. I'm really stumped here.

Specs

6 GB DDR3 RAM
AMD A6 quad core processor
AMD Radeon HD 6520G

Dolphin Settings

Any help is greatly appreciated.

That looks like a laptop. What model do you have?

Turn off Cache Display Lists at Graphics -> Hacks. It causes some glitches with the bounding boxes.
Also, post your Graphics -> Enhancement settings.

(Sorry for double posting, can't edit any of my prior posts.)

Fixed it by disabling the Twilight Princess hack. I have no idea why it was enabled but everything is running at full speed now. This thread can be closed.
Mm, nope. False positive. It worked for a little bit then went right back into its sluggish state.

Have you got the "Bounding Box Calculation" hack enabled?

This hack is necessary for all Paper Mario games.

Set EFB Copies to Texture.

It's going to break all the nice effects, but it will be faster...

Your output resolution is almost 3x I.R, try changing internal resolution to 2x or 1.5x, if your GPU is a bottleneck you should get a speed up, if not put it back to auto
......?????

damn the second time i tryed to post this...
but got fooled by the 45second post limitation of this forum... and just closed the tab
i also think that the mobile gpu is not fast enough to handle "Auto" with that Resolution

Thanks for the suggestions. I'll try them in just a bit and report back.

Also, as a note, it's only slow when walking through areas. Cutscenes, battles, and dialogue all run at a normal speed. Even the music and sound effects are synced correctly.
Nope. Nothing really sped it up. I do have the Bounding Box Calculation hack enabled, changed EFB to texture, changed the internal resolution to 1 and 1.5, but I'm not noticing any change. This is the only game that's doing this as well. Twilight Princess runs perfectly and so does Animal Crossing.

Not even close. You need a better cpu.
