Hello

I was wondering if there's a direct link to the latest nightly that never changes the filename, like zeranoe uses for ffmpeg ffmpeg.zeranoe.com/builds/win64/static/ffmpeg-latest-win64-static.zip - Index - https://ffmpeg.zeranoe.com/builds/win64/static/

But https://dl.dolphin-emu.org/builds is 403 forbidden.

I'm not that in a hurry, but I keep hearing about how development time is important, so it seems surprising you guys wouldn't think of that.

Probably isn't the new official updater having to use such a thing anyway already?

I had like ~50 ffmpeg.exe versions laying around all over the place, I thought it's a good idea to put it one central place and update that with a script from time to time, and use PATH and other thigns to make it always use that central version.

Thanks

No, our updater uses deltas instead of re-downloading everything.

Pull request builds are stored in a "-latest" format; but thats mostly because we don't really want/need the outdated builds for them. We don't have that for master builds at this point (most probably because nobody thought of it, nor anyone asking for it until now). Shouldn't be too hard to implement though.

dl.dolphin-emu.org showing 403 is intentional at the moment; due to the amount of files stored we used to run into issues during index generation and subsequently disabled it. No near-term plans of bringing that back, since there is plenty other options of getting builds (such as our Downloads page or the info right in the pull request after a build has finished)

Cool. Thanks for consideration.

Also, I meant that to come out more as a joke, not seriously blaming anyone for not already having this.

And it doesn't need to be exposed in the www GUI as a big button, if someone has reservations, could be just a hyperlink mentioned in a block of text somewhere, or at the bottom of the page, because I do still find the version specific filenames useful when checking the version without having to extract and run it, that would still be useful for non-developers who don't update so often or don't use the updater or when doing fresh install.

That's a proper keeping-it-strict-to-the-term updater allright, I like that. Great job.
