A game randomly appears blue in my library. Is anything wrong with it?

That normally happens when you compress the game when you right click on it in the game list. Did you compress your game file?

Oh, yeah - decompressing undid it. Is there much performance difference one way or the other?

No, just removes wasted space on the disc. Some games compress more or less than others.
