I just recently got into using Emulators, and I was interested in trying out Wii Emulators to play on my PC if possible, considering that I saw a ton of threads on people playing their Wii games on other consoles. I own all the games that I want to play, but before I try my hand at it and mess everything up I want to ask these few questions.

Is it possible to play these games on your PC? I use other emulators and know that I have to open a .rom file in order to play the game, but is it the same here? I see the term .iso flying around a lot and was wondering if it's essentially the same thing. I'm willing to go follow the threads in the support section on how to rip files off my actual Wii games, but I want to make sure that if after I rip the files and convert it to an .iso file, if I'm essentially done; Dolphin will read the files, and I'll be off and playing my GC and Wii games on my PC. Or can I just put the games in my computer itself and play?

I know these seem like pretty stupid simple questions, but I've looked everywhere and wasn't able to find any answers to my questions. Hope I posted this in the correct thread, thank you.
