A beginner in need of some help

Hello all!

I'm brand new to Dolphin and so I have a couple (probably dumb) questions now that I'm getting started.

• So far I have nine Wii games installed. They all run, however most do not have a thumbnail in the banner. Is there any way to add one?
• Will games automatically save my progress when I exit or do I have to manually save the state every time?
• I've found that whenever I add any Gecko code to any game, said game is completely unable to start (it just perpetually shows a white screen). Is this a common issue and is it solvable?
• It always takes many minutes of repeated trial and error to successfully pair a Wiimote to Dolphin. The four blue lights on the remote just repeatedly flash and eventually time out. I've tried hitting the refresh button over and over; I've tried having "continuous scan" on and having it off. There seems to be no particular pattern which gets it to pair successfully. Any ideas?
  

I've looked all over and haven't been able to find an answer to any of these questions.
