8 player netplay

Sorry if I'm wrong, but I don't see it anywhere on the netplay guide, forum or the FAQ. I've been using the search function as well.    

Is it possible to have a netplay party over 4 player?

I have Mario Party 7 and I'm planning to play it with some of my friends who are all across the world.
I just want to avoid the netplay with my friends to be too awkward.

Also, thank you for developing Dolphin.

I don't think it's possible for two players to be able to share a controller so you can play the eight player minigames :/ (Maybe if you assign two players to the same port, but I dunno if that actually works or not)

Could it be added as a functionality in the future?

I remember playing Mario Party 7 with 8 players

You should try assigning two players to the same controller first. If it doesn't work, it should be possible to patch in with an update.

I guess that could work, I'll have to tell my friends to stop being idiots.
