60fps pm SMG2 but struggling with Skyward Sword?

I'm able to play SMG2 at 60fps with very smooth gameplay that only stutters when grabbing a star or selecting a world; I have it on 2.5x native resolution and 4x AA. Skyward Sword is giving me trouble though.. If I use the same settings I can't get stable 30 fps and there's lots of slowdown. Turning the AA off is a small help but there's still some slowing down and I'm not able to enjoy the game as much. Any ideas on what could be causing this strange issue? Huh

Skyward Sword is more difficult to run than Super Mario Galaxy; lots of EFB effects and whatnot. You may need to turn down your settings a bit.

Try turning off the AA and set IR to 3x. Still great picture, but less strain on the GPU.

Often I find IR 3x with 2x MSAA enough to make it look great; without slashing performance in certain games.
