Yeah, IDK. I tried 652 also and it didn't work; didn't crash but it just hung on the connect screen for a while.

Is there another computer in your house that you can try and connect with, to see if it's your internet or just your computer.

Technically yes, but would I need to get the game on there as well? Or just have dolphin itself setup and connect

I don't think you would need the game on the second computer. Just have the one with the game host.

Well, what I was thinking is get some code from a guy willing to host (because everyone who tries to connect to me also crashes/times out) and have the second comp connect to it and see if it works.

It's probably a problem on your end. Is the port you are trying to connect through open?

From the guides I read (specifically on melee) you didn't need to port-forward to connect, only host (at least on 5886).
Also I'm not even sure if my router can port forward / if it handles it well.

I just tried port forwarding on both my computers. Both crashed, so I'm pretty sure it's an internet issue.

It's more likely a computer issue, firewall or some program blocking things.
