The frame limiting is disabled. There shouldn't be any difference.

Exactly. The benchmark is based on fps not gamespeed paul. Just like in dolphin haswell on average in PCSX2 appears to be 25% faster clock for clock compared to ivy bridge.

There's still a minuscule bit of a perf difference between two region variants of the game whether you're measuring FPS, VI/s, or actual gamespeed. I'm not saying that Haswell's not a massive perf improvement for emulation, I'm just pointing out that whoever the fuck tested that is enraging my OCD. >_>

If you mean my result, it was done with the FFX-2 International + Last Mission version. So this japanese version = 60fps for fullspeed. However, I don't know if there is a difference in emulation requirements between that version and the american version. I don't have the NTSC-U version, so I can't test it.

By the way, I've been posting a lot less lately. That's because I got my first job Big Grin . When I get paid by the end of the month, I plan to buy some things: Lightboost monitor (still undecided between BenQ XL2411T and ASUS VG248QE), 250GB SSD (I'll have to reinstall windows again...), Nvidia 3D Vision 2 (maybe) and a good CPU cooler (maybe a Cooler Master V8 GTS?). So after overclocking my CPU even more, I'll do PCSX2 and Dolphin benchmarks again.

I would really go for a 60Hz IPS monitor instead but its your money.

If you really are set on 120Hz I would go for the BenQ personally.

No you don't.

masterotaku Wrote:Nvidia 3D Vision 2 (maybe)

A waste of money imo. You'll get bored of it pretty quick.

Noctua NH-D14

An IPS may be fine for static images, but the moment you move the camera everything becomes blurry Tongue . I think I'll buy the BenQ because it's cheaper, has better colors than the ASUS one and the new revision doesn't have PWM.

I know, and I'll probably clone my HDD, I'm that lazy Cool . Now I have to ask for your help: how can I clone from a partition (not the whole HDD) and make it boot? Last time I tried, the partition was cloned fine, but the PC couldn't find the OS. I suppose it's because the small "reserved for system" partition wasn't copied, but I don't remember seeing it in the cloning program I used. Maybe Norton Ghost will see it...

Yeah, maybe I'll prefer real 120fps in 2D. The kit costs €125, too expensive to just try it to see if I like it.

Two things bother me about that Noctua: the massive size and that it doesn't have PWM fans. I'll think about it, though...

Forgive me thread-jacking. This caught my eye.

I have a Haswell i7. I've lately been feeling slightly (though only slightly) bummed-out that I can't overclock it (not meaningfully, anyway...). Can I comfort myself that it will still be an excellent CPU for Dolphin-purposes?

My 4670K can run SMG at fullspeed at stock clocks, and SMG is a demanding game. You'll be fine for more games than you'll have trouble with.

but good thing bout haswell is you can BLCK OC like the i7-3820 platform (its not tied to everything on the mobo).
