After a few hours of Google search, YouTube videos and browsing the Dophin Forum, was unable to clearly get direction on the issue in hand so figured I would post. I just finished my 4 player arcade cabinet and now going through my stand alone emulators to do fine tuning.
Since I am working off a 4 player arcade deck using an IPAC encoder, all emulators are ran off keyboard mappings. I am having a difficult time in Dolphin getting around having the application auto-assign players 3 & 4 the same key mappings as player 1 when utilizing "standard controller" then mapping my keyboard buttons. With the bulk of my games running through MAME and RetroArch, I really wanted to be able to manually mirror the keyboard mappings for players 1-4 (which requires 2,3 & 4 to have different mappings than player 1). I was able to get player 2 working but both Gamecube and Wii won't pickup keys when pressed. I tried using the controller extensions and manually mapping that way but still the same result.
Any work arounds to manually mapping players 3 & 4 for Gamecube & Wii so that they dont mirror player 1 or something I am missing? I get in an ideal world using 1-4 seperate controllers and/or xinput but I really dont want to do all that extra work for just these 2 systems. Goal is to have it mapped out the same as MAME for players 1-4 for simplicity. My kids really like playing GameCube multiplayer. Having to switch controllers or do special button hot keys just to get the controllers to work is a bit much for them.
Appreciate the help!
