Alright so I'm running Build 4.0-9224 on Windows 10 Home x64, with Dolphin installed on a secondary drive ( A: ). It was a 'dirty' install over my old ~2.0 build.

As the title says, I cannot get the texture dump feature working. I have tried it in the following games:
-FE: Path of Radiance
-FE: Radiant Dawn
-Metroid Prime
-Metroid Prime 2 Echoes
-Pikmin
-Super Smash Bros. Brawl

The texture load feature also does not work, tried in:
-Metroid Prime

I have tried these in the following renderers:
-OpenGL
-Dx11
-Dx12
-Software

Is this a problem with the Build, Windows 10, or something else? Could Dolphin be dumping/reading textures from a different location?
Back from the grave and working on textures.

Since 4.0, the "new" User-Folder is now located at "Documents/Dolphin Emulator". From there, you have your Dump and Load-Folders. If you want the old behaviour (use the "User" folder), create a empty file called "portable.txt" in the same directory as the "dolphin.exe".

4.0-5234 introduced a new texture format, that is much better to both users and texturizer. It has a built-in converter, that converts the textures on the fly (this means, you have to play the game).

What do you mean by a 'dirty' install? If you just put the contents of Dolphin 4.0-9224 in the folder where 2.0 already was, please don't do that. It may cause conflicts with game INIs and other things. It shouldn't affect texture dumping, though.

Like Neui says, modern versions of Dolphin don't place things in the User folder by default anymore. If you've been looking in there, that's the problem.

It hasn't been removed as far as I know. The intent is to at least keep it until 5.0 is released.

Thanks guys, my stint of Google-fu hadn't told me the folder changed locations. I guess I'm not as good at that as I used to be.

Thanks for mentioning this, I don't need textures hogging valuable SSD space.

Haven't noticed anything (yet), would you say it's a big enough deal that I should go ahead and wipe the folder and reinstall at this point?

You're unlikely to notice it, because it only affects the default settings for some games. Fixing it doesn't take long, though. Just deleting the old Sys folder and putting a new one there instead should work.
