Hi! I'm new to the forums, and this is actually the first forum i have joined before!

So i am looking for some advice about this 3rd party GameCube controller adapter that i am looking to use for melee!

Info about the adapter:
  • This adapter is from EB Games (GameStop in canada) and is under the brand of Biogenik
  • Biogenik is EB Games' no name brand
  • The adapter has 2 modes on the back like most 3rd party adapters, PC/Switch+WiiU
  • Recognized as Gamecube for Switch in Device Manager

The Issue:
  • Under Switch/WiiU mode, dolphin automatically detects it as an official adapter, no zadig needed (although under zadig, there is no WUP listing or whatever)
  • Dolphin detects it but as soon as i enter any game, the adapter stops being recognized, and going under controller settings, the adapter is flashing from being detected and not detected.

Something else that is notable is that i saw a reddit thread about someone who had this adapter, and it worked perfectly for them.

A lot of 3rd party adapters have problems with dolphin, I don't know that there is anything you can do about it.

Installing drivers with Zadig is NOT optional.
However like ExtremeDude2 said, many 3rd party adapters do not currently work.
"PC" mode should work though.

In the reddit thread i mentioned earlier, the guy got it working with the same adapter as me, but it might be inconsistent

I will try soon and report back my findings

I have the same biogenik adapter as OP and have the same flashing detected/not detected issue whenever I'm in game.

A different device name pops up in Windows depending on if the adapter is set to "PC" or to "Switch/WiiU". I've installed the driver(s) from Zadig, onto the two different devices that appear depending on what the adapter is set to. When the adapter is set to "Switch/Wii U", it is Detected by Dolphin. When it's on PC, it's Not Detected. So I leave it on "Switch/Wii U" and it gives me the same issue as the OP.

Uninstall the Zadig driver from the PC-switched driver and reinstall the original driver, then turn on emulated Wiimote and configure it there like a normal controller, should work just fine.
Check my profile for up to date specs.
