Hello, I am currently attempting to use version 4.0-652x64.7z for Melee netplay, however in the Graphics setting there is no option for 3D9 which runs perfectly on version 4.0.2 I was wondering what the problem is with why this is?

D3D9 is no longer supported by Dolphin, you can only select D3D11 (simply called D3D on the builds) or OGL.
Just update to more recent dev builds (master branch) and unmark Dual-Core mode (Melee is pretty lightweight, you shouldn´t struggle that much. That, of course, depends on how many people will play. Get a newer revision (like 4.0-2144).

Maybe you had long since you last updated your GPU drivers. Make sure your CPU is not throttling nor overheating. Enable TurboBoost if available and set Windows to High-Performance profile.
Now that I mention both, you don´t have them specified on profile. Get CPU-Z and GPU-Z to identify your CPU/GPU respectively. Rig 1: Windows 10 Home | AMD A6-1450 @ 600/1000/1400 MHz | AMD Radeon HD Graphics 8250 | 4GB RAM | HP Pavilion TouchSmart 11.

I updated my stuff so you can look at that, but my cores are getting to 90 degrees while playing. That has to be the problem, but seeing as I'm on a laptop I have no idea how to fix it. 07-16-2014, 08:46 AM
It means you have to apply new thermal paste. Laptops are not good options for playing Dolphin because they overheat easily.
