Dolphin use to have 3D vision option in DX9 for Dolphin prior 4.0 something(not sure which revision they removed dx9). I was curious if there will ever be a way for it to be added back or integrate it into dx11?

I think it's possible to support it in D3D11, but 3D vision needs to run in exclusive fullscreen mode to do so. Not sure what the status of this is (there might be an open issue for this already on Google Code, search there for more info).

As far as I know there's no one currently working on it. Given that the initial support in D3D9 was brought by someone outside the core development team, I hence assume it will stay unsupported until someone bothers contributing the support in the new D3D backend.

Well, we have issue 6713...
Avell A70 MOB: Core i7-11800H, GeForce RTX 3060, 16 GB DDR4-3200, Windows 11 (Insider Preview)
ASRock Z97M OC Formula: Pentium G3258, GeForce GT 440, 16 GB DDR3-1600, Windows 10 (22H2) 04-13-2014, 10:17 AM
I've said this 100 times around Dolphin sites, but no one listens to me for some reason on this. For my monitor, all I need to do is change the exe to dirt.exe, toggle the hotkey once in game with Dolphin and I get 3D on any D3D backend. We don't need ANYTHING from the devs except to whitelist their exe so you don't have to change the name.
I haven't gotten people to agree or disagree with me, so I'd love to get some feedback here.

The nvidia 3d stuff (in a very general sense) works by per-application settings and possibly heuristics based on the app. Tricking the driver into using some other app's settings isn't the correct answer. Also, I highly doubt using the same settings for all emulated games works properly.
The problem with 3d has always been that the number of devs who even have the hardware + software environment setup to support it is incredibly low - currently 0 I think :p 04-13-2014, 11:09 AM
I have the hardware + software environment to support it; but I don't have the technical means to help.

If anyone cared, the ad money could provide those parts.

This build should restore the 3D Vision functionality by adding exclusive fullscreen support: https://dl.dolphin-emu.org/prs/pr-506-do...est-x64.7z
Use the D3D backend and make sure "Render to Main Window" is disabled. Enable 3D vision in your driver and then start a game in fullscreen. |
