Modifying the EDID is risky, and it's not guaranteed to work. If it does work it might cause other issues. I would rather pay $40 to have a reliable solution via a proper driver instead of a hackfix, but that's just me.

How do I get 3D with an Nvidia 3D Vision graphics card (built in)?

You enable it in the NVIDIA control panel and then enable the option in Dolphin.
