That depends on the display you are using. Your TV/monitor needs to have 3D capability, and you would use the glasses that it requires (either active shutter or polarized passive). If you're display does not have a 3D function, you need to use anaglyph, and you will need the red/blue 3D glasses.

Do you have a 3D vision compatible monitor? Those use nvidia's active shutter glasses.

You need the Nvidia 3D Vision 2 kit to be able to use 3D, which you likely have to find secondhand. You also need to drive the monitor through Displayport. Also, the new 30XX cards dropped 3D support.

I world say it depends on what video card you have and if you already have the 3D kit. NVIDIA 3D Vision is far superior in image compared to anaglyph (which would be the worst). But anaglyph glasses are cheap and easily available, so if other methods are a hassle or too expensive, then give anaglyph a go. Sadly, 3D hardware is harder and harder to come by now.

I have a passive 3D 4K Sony TV, and I run dolphin 3D on passive mode. Looks amazing.
