I have used the 3-in-1 Magic Joybox in Windows for a while now and the rumble and trigger support are excellent. Windows is the only officially supported OS though (you can still map buttons and analog sticks in OS X and Linux, but not triggers or rumble).

There was a patch on the forums a while ago that added support for the triggers in OS X, but is there any such way to do the same on Linux? I use Ubuntu 12.04 btw, though it shouldn't matter in this case.

Rumble seems waaaay too unlikely, but if there is a way to get that too I would be much obliged.

Rumble is broken for most HID devices in Ubuntu, so I agree there. They could make a driver but I tend to doubt it. A patch in linux could be possible using the xboxdrv. You can basically map all keys from mayflash to the virtual driver. OH an its a big pain in the but.

I have not heard of anyone doing this.
I know this is not related as its a n64 adapter but it may help

I guess I'll look into that. Maybe that can ensure the sliders work as intended.

SDL 2.0 can use the rumble feature for Haptic devices, but that's about it. Since SDL is used for input handling in Dolphin on Linux for joysticks (afaik), the rumble is most likely an absolute no go, even if you had the necessary drivers. For everything else, it depends on how HID complaint the device is. As long as the 3-in-1 Magic Joybox is an HID device, all of the buttons and triggers should work. The triggers not working right away in OS X might have been Apple's fault with their handling HID devices; Linux kernel modules may handle it just fine. Only one way to find out though.

Were you ever able to get this fully working in Linux?
Any way to use a controller with pressure sensitive triggers in Linux (ex. a PS3 controller)?

Iev been playing Super Mario Sunshine. On a real GC L & R triggers are pressure sensitive, in SMS if you lightly press R you can spray water while you walk. Right now I am using a PS2 controller and when I press R it is not pressure sensitive and Mario has to stop to use his spray bottle.

I have real GC controllers and am considering buying a 3 in 1 Magic Joy Box from amazon

EDIT: I just said screw it and ordered it from Amazon, $13 shipped free and I had a bunch of Amazon points so it end up costing nothing. Going to try and follow the instructions on this thread http://forums.dolphin-emu.org/Thread-gc-super-mario-sunshine?page=55 and try to get triggers working with either a PS3, Xbox or GC controller, at least one of them got to do it lol

I have not seen osx driver you have to contact majic joy.

" Right now I am using a PS2 controller and when I press R it is not pressure sensitive and Mario has to stop to use his spray bottle." The official ps2 has pressure sensitive buttons ( all but start and select ). There is only one adapter out there that I know of that supports it ( see my sig ). You program two pressures at a time. So you can have X and [] be pressure, L and R be pressure, A and L, or whatever two you like. As for GC, this magic joy will work if you can get driver patches. Follow my link for a non driver GC adapter that supports all the GC features.

So... I found a fix for this... ALL YOU HAVE TO DO is install the Win Vista drivers through Wine on Ubuntu. I tested this on my laptop with Ubuntu 13.04 x64, restarted dolphin if open, wait a few minutes, and it was in options for the GC controller section Big Grin

Hope this helps you guys Big Grin

And yes triggers work Big Grin
