Are you following the guide to connecting the wiimote as per: https://dolphin-emu.org/docs/guides/configuring-controllers/
You either have the i5-2430M or the i5-2435M. 1st/2nd gen i3/5/7 mobile CPU's are getting more taxed with each new major release, because as accuracy goes up, Dolphin needs more power. You should still be able to play most games at reasonable speed, though.
Speaking of games, could you list which ones you are trying to play?
Either way, you have the dreaded Intel HD 3000 graphics. Refer to this thread: https://forums.dolphin-emu.org/Thread-graphical-glitches-osx-intel-hd-3000-opengl?highlight=hd+3000
as to why it is bad.
Also this: https://forums.dolphin-emu.org/Thread-why-is-there-a-speed-change-from-dolphin-3-5-to-4-on-os-x?highlight=hd+3000
Unfortunately, it is an OSX specific issue.
I have not caught wind of a fix yet. Anyone else know?
Have you tried Boot Camp into Windows/Linux?
