How come I can run SSSE3, SSE4.1 and SSE4.2 on my AMD CPU? Shouldn't it crash or not start at all?

If it doesn't support one (or multiple) it will only crash when the program calls a function specific to that instruction set. 01-02-2011, 09:47 PM
Could you do your OpenGL builds with at least r6713 Because there is an OpenGL fix applied which drops the number of OpenGL calls for heavy used vertex shaders.
That was found while investigating your dx9 sse3 against the OGL plugin and why the intel compiler produces faster code 01-02-2011, 09:49 PM
OpenGL BETA TESTING (sub1-sub6)

The main download links should have still been (and should still be) readily accessible... I need to re-organize the information portion anyway (header links, info vs advanced info, create a FAQ, etc.) right now it's confusing to even me, and I designed it lol. Thanks for letting me know 01-03-2011, 12:25 PM

Yesterday, the download page didn't work. I think I received a internal error from the server with some number, but now it works.

I have tested the build but cannot see the effects which had disraelie. Everything works as expected But I haven't tested SMG like him. Using the SSE3 build. By the way... shouldn't it be sufficient enough to build one version including SS(S)E3, 4, 4.1 and 4.2? At least from the source the higher extensions (>SSE2) are always checked if the cpu is capable of. Therefore it should fall back to the slower version if not available and you are good to go |
