Just found Intel's Redistributable libraries. Could you (or anyone else for that matter) see if my builds run after installing this?

Downloaded the file you asked and tried both the 5649 sse3 64bit from your site and the sse v6 from a few post back, neither worked, both did not run at all

Ok, I just got done testing my latest build (EDIT: link removed. did not work on AMD) and it works on a fresh install of Windows 7 Ultimate 64bit. I tested it on two different computers: one with an Intel i5 and the other with a Intel Core 2 Duo. Is there anyone with an Intel Processor that is having trouble running my builds? (The R5649x64_SSE3 linked on my website is faulty, but I have to reinstall Adobe Dreamweaver CS5 before I can update the link)
The Intel i5 had NO ADDITIONAL SOFTWARE installed on it to successfully run my builds (it had the latest drivers and that installed, but that was it). I'm thinking that since this is a performance boost for Intel Processors, AMD probably can't run it. Under the "Code Generation" tab under Intel C++ settings, the SSE instructions are under the category "Intel-Specific." I'm guessing that is why you guys with AMD processors can't run my builds. However, the regular 32bit and 64bit builds on my site should still work on AMD processors. If there is ANYONE with an INTEL processor who cannot run my builds and has checked to see that their processor supports the SSE instructions, let me know! EDIT: my builds currently support AMD! 06-15-2010, 10:16 AM
Yea that new build won't run aswell. However I did run another guy's build that did a compile on this forum for 64bit sse3 and it ran just fine

Perhaps spellforce can help you, he's the one who posted the sse3 builds that was working in this thread ( http://forums.dolphin-emu.org/thread-6629.html )

That's actually where I got the idea from. However, others tried asking him and he could not help them. Good idea tho. The problem seems to be that one of Intel C++ default settings does not agree with AMD processors. Needless to say, but I'll say it anyway, this is a pain in the @#%$. <speech>However, that is not deterring me from finding a solution. I'm going to keep at this until I find the solution. I Shall find the answer!</speech> ... I never thought this would be so hard and time consuming. If I had known this before I started, I probably never would have. Oh well, back to the old grind stone. EDIT: I may have just found the reason that the 64bit builds would not work on non-Intel Processors (ie AMD). It's such a simple setting I'm surprised I never paid closer attention to it. I will upload it for testing as soon as it's built. (in apprx 25 min from when this post was last edited). EDIT: Alright here it is: EDIT: link removed (this one worked and is available on my site. All builds with an OL of 2.5 or above support AMD) Test it and let me know how it works!
Yes, it run alright now.
Can run in AMD cpu now. BTW, I want to compile one by myself and I am facing problems. Can I ask you here?? I am blocking in this error: 1>Catastrophic error: unable to obtain mapped memory (see pch_diag.txt) 1> 1>compilation aborted for .\Src\StringUtil.cpp (code 4) Have you get this before? |
