Dolphin in general tends to be the better working emulator than Project64, which is accommodated either by Glide64 or GlideN64. But this is one of those few cases where Project64 has a more favorable outcome. Whatever it is more accurate or not, I don't know.
I have been quite curious why Glide64 seems to have no issue with 2D textures on objects. Quite often on the N64, objects are shown with multiple textures which form a single image to look at. In the following scenario, one of the Poe Sister paintings in the Forest Temple, which consists out of 4 different textures to form a single representation.
Here we can see the Dolphin emulator with Custom Textures disabled. It wasn't quite likely for Nintendo 64 games apparently to have seams. As was evidenced with many of the background textures in Ocarina of Time and Super Mario 64, most textures share a 1 pixel inner overlap.
Obviously my goal is to have Ocarina of Time in it's highest clarity. And... The seams really get noticeable and worse when using higher resolution custom textures.
But apparently Glide64 on Project has no problem removing these seams? So why is that exactly? Is this possible to be emulated on Dolphin as well?
Making use of Bighead's Custom Texture Tool is one of those few times where I won't work, when trying to account for the inner pixel overlap. The overlap in this case, as well with a few other textures isn't consistent actually.
Should I make a feature request of this issue on the Dolphin bug-tracker?
Ohh yeah, Dolphin is showcasing the The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time - Master Quest (D43E01) GameCube disc, but the issue should be present on all versions of Ocarina of Time, as well as other Nintendo 64 games (through the Virtual Console) on Dolphin.
