Just picked up this processor today with a motherboard. If you can afford it I highly recommend it for Dolphin Emulator. I've got it clocked @ 4.3GHz now and I'm seeing huge performance gains over my 775 @4Ghz. I'd like to squeeze 4.5 -4.6 out of it if I can.
Sandy Bridge i5 2500K @ 4.2 GHz
4GB Ram clocked @ 1600MHz
Nvidia 460 GTX 1 GB

I tried to load this save and when I do an error message pops up saying can't load headers. Any ideas?

Already tried this and can confirm full speed is no problem at all on this. 100% all the way, at least when its overclocked (It might run 100% on 3.3 GHz too, I haven't tried). You definitely want to get a K version (2500K or 2600K) since you can't overclock the others.

Yes you can. You're just limited to changing the turbo multiplier and can only go as high as +8. While K series have a fully unlocked multiplier.

You should be able to no problem. Just don't raise the core voltage above 1.35 whatever you do. And don't raise the base clock at all.

Thanks for the info. I have my core @ 1.365 actually. I read that 1.4 is the max you want to run with some saying 1.375 being max you want to run 24/7. I will lower my voltage and see if I still get reach 4.5 (which is now what I'm running).

1.4 sounds a little high. 1.375 is right on the edge between safe and unsafe. I would still recommend 1.35 just to be on the safe side. Whatever you do do not change your base clock even 1 MHz, just don't do it.

Really? - I read 1Mhz is doable. It won't break anything to try I don't think.

Ok I just saw this thread warning against the base clock adjustment:

Thanks for the heads up. It doesn't look like I'll be messing around with that.
