Remember to have the widescreen hack OFF, enable cheats on, and the AR code on.Ya know when i think of it, could you just send me a zip file of your emulator, and I'll aplly the ar code to my iso and see if that works?

That won't be necessary. Here, let me just outline what I did. Surely there is some kind of error in what you are doing. Note I'm using 3.5-1545. Latest should do fine.
First, I right click Melee in the game list, hit properties, and go to the AR Codes tab. Then I add the widescreen AR Code and make sure it's checked. Turn on enable cheats in Config>General. Without that, the AR code is not going to work. Under graphics, I set the aspect ratio to "stretch to window". Should work fine in widescreen for you, since it would just expand to fill your monitor. Make sure the widescreen hack under enhancements is OFF. Then I run it, and go into a fight so I can see what I'm doing, and stretch it till the squishing is gone. Presto, 21:9. Btw, the yellow text that pops up when you run dolphin? It will say AR Code: whatever you named it. If you don't see it, then you know you screwed up applying the code. I've tried it on all backends and with various settings, so if you follow that you should be good to go. If you follow that and still can't get it to work, well, I don't know what to do then. Get the latest from the official site: https://dolphin-emu.org/download/. Latest is 3.5-1575. Get it, then try it. I bet what you are experiencing is a fixed issue. could you just send me a zip file of your emualtor since its already configured if its not too much trouble, im not asking for an iso or anythign, dont get the wrong idea, I have one, im just asking for the emulator if its not too much of a hassle for you to zip it and upload it somewhere and link me.

It'd be as much hassle for you to unzip then to adapt his config to the graphical settings (eg internal resolution) that you want as it would for you to change three settings on a build you already have.
Also, is that AR code platform independent, because if it isn't, that could be the cause of the problem.

Some configuration somewhere on his emulator is different than mine that causes the fix to take effect. and Id like to be able to compare and contrast, even if he doesnt upload a zip, just upload screenshots of his entire configuration all-around. And im waiting for a reply, from him on one issue, because I think the problem may be that AR codes only work on v 1.02 of SSBM and If that is correct his version should be v1.02, and mine is v1.01(which mine is) And can you elaborate on "AR code platform independent", im not experienced in the whole understanding of emulation, so Im not sure what you mean. 07-10-2013, 02:28 AM
Most AR codes only work on the PAL version of a game, or only work on the NTSC version, or only the NTSC-J version. These are platform dependant, because whether or not they work depends on what platform the game was for.

Just thought I'd throw this out here. I have SSBM V1.0 (NTSC) and the codes don't work for me. I remember reading somewhere that the code was only tested on v1.2. Just thought I'd let you guys know.
The AR codes are different based on which version of SSBM you have. Here's the different versions for 16:9 widescreen:
1.0: 04BDA464 3FCFC217 1.1: 04BDB8C4 3FCFC217 1.2: 04BDC5E4 3FCFC217 PAL: 04C05144 3FCFC217 Now, if we switch 04BDC5E4 with 40155555 like before for 21:9 widescreen, the 1.1 version which you need should look like this: 04BDB8C4 40155555 See if you've got better luck with this one. |
