There should be a difference. Check the game settings to see if it overrode. I recall something about the game settings getting changed to specify LLE for WW when it wasn't needed in most cases. Right click on the game and go to properties.

Aside from that, please post your CPU clock speed during gameplay.

Go into User/GameConfig and change this:
EFBToTextureEnable = True

The whole thing where Wind Waker uses LLE by default (e.g. even if HLE's selected in the Audio config, it'll use LLE for WW) was done by RachelB at my request/recommendation. I got *really* tired of having so many people complain about the black/white/greyscreen issue that HLE causes, let alone the cases of it that happened to people who fucked up their save files by using save states and were therefore stuck on save states that were five seconds before a blackscreen... ugh, let's just brush all that horseshit aside and go back to the usual everyone-whines-about-performance routine, eh?

Well, with that in mind, maybe you don't want to do this. Most have reported no problems, but using save states is clearly not recommended if this fixes your performance issue.

I'm not necessarily saying save states exacerbate the problems – it's just that using them in a specific way (tl;dr, make save state, make memory card save, load save state, try to save) corrupts your memory card save, and subsequently relying on save states is a very easy way to get yourself into a situation where you made your latest-and-only save state under HLE five seconds before the game blackscreens, and the game blackscreens every time you try it regardless of how goddamn nondeterministic the issue's supposed to be, and you obviously can't just load the state under LLE. Boom, no more usable save. Fuck you, save states and HLE. Now we just need to embed the game's .gci in every save state to prevent the other half of the issue.

^ This. I can't recommend using hacks that break parts of the game, but I can certainly recommend overclocking.

If you need a better cooler, these are the two I've repeatedly recommended. The former's fine for a medium overclock if you've been using the stock cooler, while the latter's two of the former molded together if your current non-stock cooler's not good enough for a heavier overclock.

Yeah, about OCing... I used to have my CPU at 4.2GHz. I got a Freezer Pro 7 which is pretty good for the price. I had it back to 3.3 for some reason and tried overclocking it to 4.0 again about a year ago. For some reason it just would not work. Max I was able to achieve was 3.6 it would not start if I had it higher. I overclocked via BIOS and always did it bit for bit and also upped the voltage bit for bit, but nothing worked, I was just not able to get it above 3.6, it just would not let me boot my system.
