People lived for 4000 - 5000+ revisions without mamario's builds, I'm sure a bit of downtime without new builds on the main site doesn't spell the end of all builds and the world entirely. Heh, it's only recently been within the last 500 - 800 revisions since the developers decided to switch over to using mamario's site as the official site.

i dont get y people cant just compile their own builds? it saves the trouble of having to move ur files too Tongue

Checkout my latest project ( it is a program that downloads and compiles dolphin on mac and linux now): http://code.google.com/p/dolphin-emu-downloader (It's unofficial and maintained by me, not the dolphin dev team)

because it's quicker and easier to just download and unzip a file. it takes me about two minutes to update to a new rev, and there's no moving files involved - all of my settings, saves, etc are merged.

People who are in programming business for too long tend to forget the important things - people are lazy, and either can't (and are not willing to learn) or simply won't do things on their own. When you just want to "play wii games on my computer" you honestly do not care about compiling (in most cases no idea what is that thing). So no, "compile it yourselves" is not a good practice - unless it is your goal to keep noobs (read - majority of the world) at bay.

And "what takes longer" is completely besides that point. People who can compile do not need someone else to tell them how they should update their builds Wink

You can download new revs from here until mamario fix his script:
http://forums.dolphin-emu.org/showthread.php?tid=502

I`m downloading from them for now as my builds are coming with broken dsound backend, but once I figure that out I will build my own Dolphin. Compiling your own builds is much better if you can, I have a low end PC and it takes me 8 minutes to do it Tongue
OS: Windows 10 Pro 64bit Creators Update

Graphics Card: Nvidia GeForce GTX 960 2GB GDDR5

RAM: HyperX 8GB Dual Channel @ 1600Mhz

"Compiling your own builds is much better if you can" any particular reason for this? i'm not trying to argue - i'd genuinely like to know. i can't see how there's an advantage to compiling it yourself if someone else is willing to do it. thus it takes me 0 seconds to compile a new rev. isn't that easier?
