So right now, Dolphin only supports resolutions in multiples of 1 of the native resolution of the GameCube/Wii up to 6x. However, resolutions like 1.5x and 2.5x would be appreciated for lower spec devices like budget PCs and android phones and tablets which can't quiet run games at 2x or 3x native resolution but might be able to run a resolution in the middle so they would still get a resolution boost.
1.5x, 2.5x (etc.) native resolution suggestion

We used to have this but removed it due to various problems it caused (mainly graphical, but there was at least one save file corruption issue as well).

I wonder why this would cause graphical issues. Is it something to do with resolutions being uncommon? And do you ever plan to to test this again to see if it is works well? 08-20-2019, 03:00 AM
It's because games only were designed to run at 1x resolution and because the side effects of integer resolution scales are easier to "hide" from the game than non-integer resolution scales. As of now, we don't have any plans to bring it back.

You have to consider that many games rely on graphics being rendered correctly. If the graphics are wrong in metroid prime(maybe 2 and 3 only?) for example, the scanner doesn't work properly.
If it was just broken graphics, i think the options wouldn't have been removed. 08-20-2019, 09:01 PM
