Despite the fact that the 4790K is unlocked, I'd say go for the 6700 because the new chipset has some nice features (google them if you're curious) and it supports Intels new Speed Shift™ technology.
At the same clocks, the 6700 is around 8.23% faster according to my testing. The 6700 can still be overclocked with the BLCK and it's a lot easier now that it isn't linked to other components. Instead of bumping it up in straps (100 -> 125, etc) you can do it incrementally now for fine-tuning. What's the price difference between the 4790K and 6700 and how much more expensive is the 6700K? 12-20-2015, 10:09 AM
