Quote:Why do you say "near the end of the game"? Does it tend to slow down more the further you get?Yes. As more places open up the slowdown gets worse. But this is only if you are not using the tp speedup hack, which fixes this. @Ocean Don't feed the trolls you fool!

My i7 was OC'd to 4.2 Ghz, but I lowered it to 4 Ghz along with the voltages to decrease temps until I'm able to properly reapply the thermal paste. Slowest part of Hyrule Field is 25 FPS - 30 FPS, if I disable the frame limiter it sometimes jumps up to 45 FPS - 50 FPS. With my i7 950 and DDR3 1600 ram I have 25 FPS - 30 FPS in the slowest part of Hyrule Field without the speed hack, if I disable the frame limiter it sometimes jumps up to 45 FPS - 50 FPS. My Core2Duo E8500 @ 3.16 Ghz system with DDR2 800 ram only got 12 FPS - 15 FPS without the hack and overclocking to 4 Ghz didn't really make any difference. My i7 at stock is even stupidly fast compared to my previous system. 10-07-2010, 04:19 PM

I own a GTX 460, but GPU seems to make little difference. I replaced my 9800 GT with one of my GTX 460's in my Core2Duo E8500 system before a sold it and there was no increase of FPS. I'm not sure if it's the i7, the fast DDR3 ram or both that gives much better performance.

@Skid
Yes he is. @Xtreme I'll eventually get around to contacting you about benchmarking. It's going to be a few weeks though.
