I'm attempting to get my Wii remotes to work on Dolphin to very mixed success.
Using the "Emulate the Wii's Bluetooth adapter" option did not work for me. The wii remote would not connect no matter how long I tried. However, I followed a YouTube tutorial for the "Passthrough a Bluetooth adapter" setting, and this was a partial success.
Initially using the Passthrough option would give me an error message upon starting a Wii game, stating that the option was not supported by my computer's Bluetooth (-12: LIBUSB_ERROR_NOT_SUPPORTED). By following the YouTube tutorial, I was able to use a program called Zadig, that gives me the option of switching drivers on my computer's Bluetooth. Doing so removes the standard Bluetooth functionality of my computer, but these drivers can easily be swapped, so this doesn't concern me at all.
Doing this allows me to connect multiple wiimotes to Dolphin, with all of the buttons functioning normally; including with a nunchuck. However, the pointer will not cooperate.
I'm using a Wii U and a standard bundled sensor bar to serve as the IR sensor for Dolphin. I figured just turning my Wii U on with this plugged in would do the job, but I was wrong. Turning on my Wii U while a Wiimote is connected to Dolphin allows the pointer to work on Dolphin for roughly 3 seconds, before the functionality completely stops. This same thing also happens when I power down the Wii U, or boot an app or game on my Wii U. This happens both with and without Wii motion plus. The Wii remotes work perfectly fine on the Wii U itself, so I know the sensor bar is not the issue.
The fact that the pointer works briefly gives me hope that there is a solution to this, but I have seen nobody online talk about this issue, so I'm not sure what to do.
For reference, my Bluetooth adapter is listed in my Device Manager as Intel® Wireless Bluetooth ®, and the driver version is 22.160.0.4.
Any advice?
