you have to use OpenGL and enable real XFB...though that makes everthing low-res :-|

Posted too soon. RC1 does not seem to crash as much as the previous releases, but they do still happen. I was able to spend two uninterrupted days chopping wood and slaying turnips though. The crash USUALLY (seldom happens otherwise) occurs when heading south after exiting your castle. if you save state before doing so, you can keep running south and reloading until the crash doesn't happen. This may buy you the rest of the (In game) day to play, but be aware that a crash may still happen on your way back to the castle.

I dont get why XFB won't get ported to D3D... the structure is already existent in opengl, porting it to d3d is mainly only copy paste work plus wrapping OGL into D3D functions. Two files @graphic plugin. D3D >> OGL ... :/
Probably cuz at least half of the active staff is using probably linux or osx.... I would do it my own if i know D3D/OGL api. C2D 2.4Ghz; 4GB; Geforce 9700M; Win7/X64.

I'm using an SVN build more recent than Dolphin 2.0 (SVN r5398) and the game still randomly freezes.
I've tried it three times and shortly after exiting the castle the game will freeze. 04-30-2010, 12:06 PM
SVN r5411 and still unplayable: freezes randomly
SVN r5419 and still unplayable.......
Actual state using D3D(Rev. 5414) = Crash/Freeze randomly.

I've added an issue to the project: http://code.google.com/p/dolphin-emu/iss...il?id=2652
Hopefully it gets fixed |
