If you overclock, by the time the CPU dies, it'll be outdated then. I'm talking almost a decade here.

Why is r3.0-784 so fast?

For someone who doesn't know much about overclocking it can be very dangerous for the cpu .. at some point of chanching the bclk you also have to change the voltages and there is no fully detailed tutorial for the i7 930 ..
there are just many warnings, that it gets hot very fast, because of its bad design .. i once set my bclk to 155, don't know how much Ghz it has then, I'm bad at math (:, and it gets 55°C already, though dolphin only uses about 20% of its capacity .. I have a fan with 2000 rps to cool it .. 10-31-2012, 02:00 AM
55°C is really cold for a CPU. You shouldn't be worrying until it gets to the high 90s.

Yeah and it's very very rare that it will ever reach that kind of temperatures. If it does it's basically because inferior cooling and lack of knowledge in thermal grease application.

A fan isnt enough alone, you should also try a coolant if you havent
......?????
Tjmax (1st gen i3/i5/i7 ) suppose to be set at 105C. It is the temperature the CPU will shutdown or throttle down to protect from overheating
Tcase = 67.9C != Tjmax = 105C 70C°on full load is fine , don't worry about it Laptop: Mini PC :: 10-31-2012, 03:22 AM
