I'm running Dolphin 4.0 7840 on Windows 10 using the official nintendo wii u adapter and the zadig driver.
I had some friends over to play melee last night and a lot of people were playing it on Dolphin. A couple people had a strange controller issue where in game it would randomly lightshield by itself, which basically made it unplayable. One of the guys who had the issue left his controller here by accident so I got a chance to play around with it.
When I started dolphin with his controller plugged in to any port on the adapter it works perfectly fine with no lightshielding issues. When I plug it in to a different port than what it started with it starts having the issues. This happens regardless of what port I start it in. I did the same tests with my own controller and I had no issues. Both of these are official nintendo controllers. His controller has no problems like this on a wii or gamecube, just in dolphin.
Any ideas on where I could begin to troubleshoot this? I've never heard of anyone else having this problem.
Edit: Just tested this issue in Metroid Prime. I was able to successfully reproduce the issue. When I started the game with the controller plugged in it worked perfectly fine. When I plugged in the controller after starting the game the L and R trigger seemed to get stuck registering the input even though they are not physically pressed in on the controller. Pressing them once seemed to get them unstuck and pressing them again sometimes seemed to get them stuck. So it's not as much a random occurence as dolphin or the adapter thinking they are pressed when they actually aren't.
