"Seriously though, doesn't it seem a bit odd to support XP 32bit and not XP 64bit? "
No, because XP x64 isn't really XP. It's server 2003 x86-64 with an XP GUI interface.. XP is over 10 years old now, everyone should have upgraded by now except corporations and those that depend on using legacy software/hardware. Windows Vista was released nearly five years ago, Windows 7 nearly two years ago, I say get with the times as OEM licenses are fairly cheap and even cheaper if you are a student. Maybe you shouldn't be using Dolphin if your PC can't handle Windows Vista x64 or Windows 7 x64 as you claim. Playing on a Wii would probably be a better choice, it's not like you can use quality enhancements if your PC is so crappy which negates the benefits of using an emulator. 03-06-2011, 08:18 AM
Who said I was using this for seriously playing games? My Wii and/or GameCube would indeed be much more capable of that.
Also OC'ing to 3GHz actually helps a LOT, and I'll be getting a friend's old 6000+ for free that he found laying around his house (seriously XD). If that will OC anything like my current it'll be @ 3.5GHz.

seriously?
sell that stuff sell some old wii/gc games (i sold my zelda windwaker special edition for 30euro) and get a amd x4 low budget setup... 03-06-2011, 08:22 AM
Then just use XP x86, if it's not for playing games.. You would probably get equivalent or better speed using XP x86 with JITIL than using XP x64.

Do you not realize I payed like only $70 for the case, mobo & fans, cpu & heatsink, gpu, floppy drive, and 80gb sata HDD? Besides, I'm not gonna buy new hardware JUST to play Wii & GCN games in HD, especially since my Wii itself is on an SDTV so it looks fine. And Xtreme2damax, I do sometime play games but nothing serious - it's more like "goofing around". Also JITIL makes some games slower (i.e. Tetris Party Deluxe)

Are you a pirate with no Wii/GameCube or something? Why should I spend money on new PC hardware when, other than Dolphin, this thing more than runs everything I need it to, and my launch Wii works perfectly fine and is hooked up to a quality CRT SDTV anyway?
It's not like I'm a hardcore PC gamer that needs to max out Crysis or something...heck my monitor is only 1280x1024. But guess what? IT WORKS FINE.

And guess what? My 10-year-old Sony Trinitron CRT has better contrast and response time than any LCD (and probably plasma) screen today. And FYI, LED TVs are still LCD.
Unless it's an OLED TV, I'm not impressed.
