We are here to give awnsers and help solving configuration problems, we cant modify the emulator to magically work better. Only gods and developers have permission to do that XD lol
OS: Windows 10 Pro 64bit Creators Update
CPU: AMD Phenom II X4 960 @ 3.6 GHz Graphics Card: Nvidia GeForce GTX 960 2GB GDDR5 Motherboard: Gigabyte GA-870A-USB3 AM3+ Revision RAM: HyperX 8GB Dual Channel @ 1600Mhz 10-18-2010, 06:14 AM
thanks everyone for ignoring the main question, i never asked to modify the emulator or asked you to do any magic, have you people actually seen SMB Brawl running in recent dolphin builds in a BUNCH of youtube videos? (or the ones i posted?), those who were running the game at high speed had a minimum 8800gt card if not much better and equal or slower CPU (if you read description and comments) , so i concluded that replacing my 8600gt will actually improve my gameplay.
is not hard to read and do research, i thought dolphin forums had people with more experience so i came to ask but oh well... i better not say anything more. configuring dolphin is too easy to even bother asking. 10-19-2010, 07:58 AM
You asked your question. We awnsered it. If you didnt like the way we did it it's not anyone's fault but yours. Let me remind you that we're not at a job here, and everyone that have read your question and replied it did it because they wanted. If you think it's easy to configurate Dolphin than why DID you bother asking? We gave our opinion, if you think that yours is better than just replace your Graphics Card and quit complaining, and if you want to "read and do research" just do it yourself, as I said nobody here has no obligation to you.

You say your CPU is an unlocked Phenom II x4 from an Athlon II x3. That's not possible, they are entirely different manufacturing lines. You're running an Athlon II x4.
Athlons aren't that great at dolphin because they are low on cache.... and that's why Intel CPUs tend to fair better.
Back from the grave and working on textures.

You're running an Athlon II x4. Right and SSBB is one of the first games playables at full speed over dolphin (I can ). If u want more performance first upgrade your CPU (An X3 is perfect for dolphin, yes 3 cores, remember the "DSPLLE plugin" in the future). Second upgrade ur GPU, Ati 5830 or 5850 is a good option for dolphin. And remember for mid-high end hardware you need a good PSU(the wattage and the brand are very important!) Good luck. You're running an Athlon II x4. you dont event know what you are talking about, do some research before spitting anything that comes to your mind. do you even know whats the difference between athlon II and Phenom II? after you unlock a athlon II depending what type it is it (propus or deneb) will have L3 Cache which is the only difference between athlon II and phenom II as they share the same architecture, mine of course resulted in a deneb with L3 Cache unlocked (although L3 Cache is almost useless). google is your friend i just leave This and This or This for you and those with doubts, and i know dolphin runs a bit better on intel, but theres no justification for the fps i am getting (if you even read my posts..) (i know cpu comes first when talking about dolphin by the way) i posted proofs, but you all ignored it for some unknown reason, you could not even answer if i would get an improvement, i know i will, but i had doubts but all your answers were too hollow and opened even bigger questions. i appreciate your time to answer my questions even if they dont help. by far Dynam0 is the only one helping here. i am ocing 3.6 with stock fan, i am planning to buy a good aftermarket fan and push it farther maybe 3.8-4.0 ghz, but getting a better GPU comes first. thanks. 10-19-2010, 04:54 PM
i'm interested in your performance increase. im looking to just upgrade my gpu too.
i run dolphin on my arcade cab phenom x3 720 be geforce 210 <------ terrible poor performance was expected but it wasnt that bad. a lot of things run decent. if i end up upgrading before you, i'll post them benchmarks |
