My friends and I are trying to share a town in Animal Crossing and the memory card loads up fine and the game works with it. It even says it's writing to correct memory card in the correct location on the top status bar, but upon closing the game and reopening it is always the same as it was when it was originally sent, all new progress lost. All I could think of is maybe some sort of writing permission issue or something? We have no idea what is stopping it from saving especially when it's acting like it's saving perfectly normally

Are you playing on netplay? If so, you need to enable the option to write the saves. If you're not playing in netplay, I don't know what would cause this, unfortunately.

No, I'm only playing the game locally, we're just trying to share a save file.

After uninstalling my current version and all previous versions as well as the dolphin files in documents, a fresh install of regular 5.0 is saving perfectly fine.

While Dolphin 5.0 works for you 5.0 is extremely outdated and missing many features. Some features added to the newest version improve netplay greatly! You would need to do a full unistall and removal of the documents folder to install the latest version without any issues. Even the developers would say to update past 5.0 since it's even missing ubershaders which is responsible for stopping stutters ingame. 07-10-2019, 03:49 PM

Well we're not doing netplay, we're only sharing a memory card. For what we're doing, 5.0 works perfectly fine for us and I don't really want to upgrade for small QoL changes and risk getting more issues again haha. We use the faster melee emulator for netplay
