Hello,
First off, I would like to say how impressed and appreciative I am of the Dolphin development team and community! I've been lurking for a while and I just wanted to say it's amazing.
Second, I was wondering If I could ask YOU, the developers and community, if you could help me out with the NSMB wii configuration. I'm a beginner, as my name suggests.
I'm currently running Windows XP 32-bit on a 2010 Macbook, which has a 2.4 Ghz Intel Core 2 Duo, nVidia 320M 256 MB VRAM, and 2 GB of DDR3 at 1066 Mhz.
To my astonishment, I've been able to run NSMB in two player mode on an external monitor consistently around 60 fps at 1440 x 900. I've been using D3D, Skip EFB access from CPU, EFB from Texture, and Auto (Window) for internal resolution. Everything else is mainly unchecked, except for Disable Fog. I'm using Dolphin 3.0
My issue is that whenever the lava, as seen in the World Castles, is in frame, I get a hard performance hit down to 30 - 49 fps. If I jump high enough up so the lava is out of frame, my fps is up near 60 fps again. I was wondering is the lava a known issue within the community? Are there any hacks available specifically for the lava in NSMB wii? Interestingly, I popped the internal resolution down to 1x, but noticed no performance difference, which leads me to believe it's a strange programming issue... but what do I know.
Anyway, thanks for a great emulator! Talk to you soon.
