Hi, I'm trying to get Animal Crossing to work on my girlfriend's laptop for her, the specs are listed below and she is currently on OS X 10.11.4. I have the exact same version (4.0) as her on my Macbook and all of my games/controllers/etc. work perfectly. However the emulator doesn't seem to register the keyboard even when all of the above steps are taken.
Yes, "Device" is set to the Keyboard option
Yes, "Port 1" is set to "Standard Controller"
But win I run the game, it works except for the fact that we can't get past the home screen because we can't hit start. I've been trying to figure out a solution for hours and I can't fix it. She's very needy (in a cute way) so I'm really trying to help her Any help would be appreciated.
Also, when I try to change the controls on the gamepad settings, the window doesn't recognize the keys I am pressing. I have to right click and manually change the key bindings. I can type things in the "Device:" and "Profile" boxes, but when I try to change a key binding by left clicking and then pressing the key, the result is the same as it would be if you just didn't press a key.
It's something to do with the keyboard, but I cannot figure out what's different.
I have not encountered anyone else with this problem.
Note: I have toyed around with some other options, including using 3.5 instead, downloading an iso from a different website, and changing the "threshold" option on the gamepad settings, and none of those worked either.
