Why, uh, not just go out and buy a Wireless 360 Controller? They come with a Wireless Adapter for the PC. You can hook up 4 to it, and they can be used for a lot of other things. And, like, you get that left L2 button, and L3 and R3.
Why anyone needs a Gamecube controller is beyond me. The 360 one has the stick in the natural thumb position, so it's not like you're missing out. Are you kidding me buddy, this is emulation - the whole idea is to recreate the original experience (and make it better). And if you play multiplayer, it's a must. My friends and I are Smash Bros experts. Playing with 360 controllers just doesn't cut it. INITIAL REVIEW The GameCube/N64 USB adapters from Raph are great. As I indicated earlier in the thread, I ordered 4x controllers with the intention of playing 4 man Smash Bros Brawl. Brawl is emulated almost perfectly, so the game runs fine. We all enjoyed it - and was a fun time; and the adapters worked good. That said, I did have to run the calibration setup from the Windows gamepad settings. This on each of them before I could get the input to detect from Dolphin. I was rushed to get everything setup cause I just moved into a new place and my buds were coming over today, so I may just need to play with the calibration and the Dolphin input settings more - but there were a few times when the odd button would input for no reason. I think this too may have to do with the quality of controller your using. I have stock Nintendo GC controllers, but some of them are pretty worn - and this can cause issues when setting up the input in Dolphin. As a workaround, you can just setup one profile on a good controller and then load it each time for the different pads you plugin. So in conclusion, the adapters work great but you may need to run calibration on them and you'll certainly want to spend some time testing & getting the input settings all setup in Dolphin. By the way, one nice benefit of these adapters - is the fact they are almost 3 feet long, which adds to the length of the already notoriously short GC controller cable length. 10-22-2010, 09:04 PM

The 360 controller is better in terms of availability and connectivity and versatility. And, how does the 360 controller NOT work for Smash? To start, the controller's layout is very similar to the Gamecube controller's. It even has pressure-sensitive L and R's. The only main difference is the lack of a giant A button, and the layout of those four. That should not truly matter though. The C-stick is there. The D-Pad is there. The Z button is there (and on both sides!), what IS it missing? The stick is even attached the same way. What is the 360 controller missing? 10-28-2010, 04:30 AM
It's missing character, LOL..
