It's a bad dump, according to everything I've seen, even compared to mine.

Your dump is indeed bad. According to the database on redump.org, the MD5 checksums for the three possible US discs should be:
1.00 = 478bf75c63d6ff30315c9b34cee288ab 1.01 = 81724d71a2143a4fccf49020737d3add 1.02 (PSO Plus) = 36a7f90ad904975b745df9294a06baea Try cleaning your disc and dumping it again. 10-10-2014, 10:25 AM
Hello Aleron Ives,
I re image the disc and now it does not segfault in Soul Of Steel Quest. 10-10-2014, 11:27 AM
Congratulations. I'm also glad we don't need to add another bug report to the bug tracker.

Hello Everyone,
I saw a few funny images while i went through Ruins 3 on Ultimate Difficulty. This happen on Dolphin-4.0-4839. Slackware 14.1 64bit Nvidia Proprietary Driver 340.65. 01-25-2015, 07:34 AM
Thanks to skidau, we can talk at last!
The keyboard mappings are a bit strange, though. My semicolon/colon key doesn't work at all (even after trying to remap it), Shift+' creates the @ symbol, whereas Shift+2 creates curly quotes. I'm having a little trouble testing all the keys, as the invisible text bug makes it hard to tell whether certain characters are working. Even so, this is awesome news for PSO. 01-25-2015, 12:57 PM
The GC keyboard's layout doesn't match up with (qwerty) PC keyboard layout for a bunch of shifted characters, particularly number keys. I haven't looked at the code in Dolphin but the only way around it is to send different key scancodes when the shift scancode is also being sent.
At least you can now bust a move in the lobby.
Yes, the keyboard that PSO uses is a Japanese style keyboard made by Sammy/ASCII. I have tried mapping the keys as best I could. I have also tried to make the keys line up with Datel's PowerBoard which looks like a US style keyboard but sends different signals via the adapter. So in the end, Dolphin's layout is a bit of a mix and match with the US style 101 keyboard. At least you can reconfigure the keys, if that helps And the semicolon can be typed in PSO by remapping the EQUALS key. I worked that out by seeing that the semi colon is under the + key on the PSO keyboard, and the = key is under the + key on the US style keyboard.

Well, I sort of have it working after looking at that screenshot, but it would certainly be a lot less confusing on the user end to use tueidj's method of sending alternate scancodes to make the keys line up 1:1 with a Western qwerty keyboard (although I suppose also much less elegant from a code perspective). Thank you for including manual mapping, though. I managed to make the semicolon key create colons and the apostrophe key create semicolons by mapping equals to apostrophe and * to semicolon in the keyboard configuration.
I also thought I should try out Japanese mode, and I stumbled upon how to map the IME toggle key, so I can switch between direct input and kana input at will. On the Japanese keyboard, it's the key to the left of 1/!, so I mapped it to the grave key on my keyboard by setting ; to grave. I guess that's why with the default layout the ; key does nothing when PSO is set to English, since you're not allowed to use the IME unless PSO is set to Japanese. Is there any key you can strike to instantly clear the text field? I would normally use Esc, but hitting that key opens the "Do you want to stop the current emulation?" dialogue. I have so far not been able to randomly find a key that does it, so maybe GC doesn't have that functionality. |
