I'm new here and just started using Dolphin (which I must say is an incredible emulator) so hi
I saw some guides on how to use Dolphin where Steam would show that you are playing the certain game, and (in some cases) Steam overlay would also work. I thought I would try it out, I added the Dolphin.exe to steam games library, and edited the target line so that it would automatically run a certain .iso when it was launched. However, as soon as it launched Dolphin and the .iso began to run (ie. a second Dolphin window appeared where the .iso was due to run) both windows froze, with the error "Dolphin.exe has stopped working". I thought that it may be that I messed up the target line or something, so I returned it to original (so that opening Dolphin through the Steam library would simply open Dolphin). If I then opened Dolphin through Steam, the Dolphin window would load correctly, but if I tried to run an .iso or configure graphics settings, it would again freeze (just graphics settings, all others settings would open fine).
Note that if I run Dolphin on it's own without Steam, everything works correctly (AFAIK). If anyone has any idea how I could fix it or what is going on I would greatly appreciate it, at the moment I'm inclined it's something to do with my video card (GeForce GT555M) simply because it crashes on graphics settings as well as running an .iso, but I'm a noob at this stuff so I don't know. Again thanks in advance if you can enlighten me on this problem.
Edit: Also out of curiosity, is it generally better to use Direct3D9 or Direct3D11? Or does it depend on the game?
